Hopefully the penny drops that this is what a rubbish political discourse and opposition also create. The front benches of Her Majesty’s Opposition and the supposedly independent and critical media engineered this because this is their politics too. If you look over the channel to France, people now have a choice between neoliberalism that has failed and populism/fascism. As if we’re only just realising it now and the simple answer is “Not the Tories”. No, the answer is serious, public-serving and accountable politicians (and a media that hold them to account).
